ÜSLAB Laboratory

In ÜSLAB, which is located in its new hall designed for multi-purpose use, a section is organized in such a way to provide a classroom study with building blocks, to watch videos, to conduct seminar-like studies, and to be used as a lecture room for small groups if necessary. Here, five tables and chairs are placed opposite a board. Two of the practices of the Facility Planning course are carried out here.

LEGOs coming with the help of the British are currently used in the construction of three-dimensional models. The miniature lathe and robot arm, which came with the same aid, have completed their economic life. The operating programs for these two hardware units are written in BBC-BASIC language and their start up disks are in a format that today's computers cannot read. There are also fuse faults on the lathe and gear on the robot arm. Since the compressed air problem of the robot arm could not be solved, it has not been used with full efficiency until today.

In the Facility Planning course, it is considered to exhibit the three-dimensional models (such as workbench, material transfer equipment, production cells, special equipment, rope diagrams) that have been produced to date for students.

50 jacks supplied by a jack manufacturer operating in Eskişehir are also planned to be used as course materials in this laboratory. In this context, the first application was made in the Production Systems course in the 2009-2010 Spring semester. In this application, an assembly and a disassembly line connected simultaneously are designed to be run by students in the role of line workers.
